Glen Davis May Play Overseas

Glen “Big Baby” Davis has spent eight seasons playing professional basketball. During his time in the NBA, Davis has averaged 8 points and 4.4 rebounds-per-game for three different ball-clubs. His most successful season came during the 2012-13 Orlando Magic where he averaged a career-high 15.1 points and 7.2 rebounds-per-game.

During February of 2014, the Orlando Magic decided to waive the 6’9″ power forward out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It didn’t take long for him to find a home, however, just three days later, the Los Angeles Clippers decided to ink him to a deal for the remainder of the season. In 97 games over the course of two seasons with the Clippers, Big Baby has averaged 4 points and 2.5 rebounds-per-game.

Being a free-agent this summer, Davis has yet to sign a contract with any team. It has been reported by Emiliano Carchia of Sportando that Glen Davis is still in contract talks with the Clippers, but if they can not reach an agreement the 29-year-old is open to playing overseas. On Friday it was reported that there is “optimism” that the two sides will eventually reach an agreement.

A contract with the Los Angeles Clippers is by no means out of the realm of possibility for Davis. Arash Markazi of ESPN reported Saturday that the Clippers decided to waive Jordan Hamilton. This move opens up one more roster spot for the Clippers next season, and Davis could very well be that player.

Heading into the 2015-16 season, the Los Angeles Clippers have high expectations. Not only have they brought back DeAndre Jordan, but the Clippers have also traded for Lance Stephenson and signed Paul Pierce and Josh Smith. Coming off a disappointing end to the 2014-15 season, the Clippers are in position to bounce back stronger than ever and potentially compete in the Western Conference Finals.
