Isaiah Thomas Suffers Bruised Elbow & Tailbone

Last night the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics went at one another in a Monday night match up that was just as exciting as these games were in 2012 when the two teams were fighting for the Eastern Conference crown on the backs of LeBron James and Paul Pierce. Okay… maybe not that exciting, but it was a thrilling matchup nevertheless with Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas and Heat guard Dwayne Wade dueling in the fourth quarter putting up impressive shot after impressive shot. Although Boston came out with the victory, they did not leave American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida unscathed; Isaiah Thomas took a hard fall on an And-One play late in the fourth quarter:

Reporters in Miami caught up with Thomas after the game and he said, “I never fell that hard before… And the pain… When I fell, I thought I was done…” Thomas ended up springing back up and finishing the game, albeit in quite a bit of pain. Thomas ended up suffering a bruised tailbone and elbow and is slated to get an X-Ray today. The injury appears minor and the Celtics expect him to play on Wednesday in a tough matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Isaiah Thomas has been averaging 21 points and 5.6 assists-per-game while he has been on the Celtics and with Avery Bradley being bothered by an elbow strain, the Celtics hope they can get him back on the court as soon as possible as they need his scoring and play making.
